Here are the latest rules you need to follow in Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted Airport.
Heathrow Airport
Passengers and staff aged six and older need to wear face coverings at all time – most people must go through security without needing to take it off.
In some areas of the airport, there will be temperature screening in place – Terminal 2’s immigration hall, the main entrance to departures within Terminal 2 as well as Zone H in Terminal 5’s departures area.
You don’t need to do anything different, and there will be signs that inform you when you’re entering an area being captured. If you’re uncomfortable with this, you can opt to take a different route.
All flights now depart from Terminals 2 and 5.
Gatwick Airport
All flights to and from Gatwick are operating from the North Terminal – including Ryanair, Wizz Air and Belavia passengers who would normally travel from South Terminal.
There are four main points to the airport’s campaign – wear a face covering, maintain social distancing, wash hands regularly and keep hands clean on the go.
There are special PPE bins around the terminals for the disposal of face coverings and gloves only, and there are hand sanitiser stations throughout the building – with other places where you can wash your hands clearly marked.
Seating arrangements have been changed to ensure social distancing measures can be observed, and one way systems are in place in some areas of the airport.
Only family groups or people travelling in the same party can travel in lifts together, and staircases will be split and designated either for up or down travel.
Stansted Airport
Face covering will be required in all parts of the airport, and you’ll only be allowed into the terminal building if you have a flight booked.
Additional hand sanitising stations have been installed throughout the airport, and there are protective screens throughout the terminal, including at check-in desks and security. Temperature screening technology is being trialled at the entry to security, and UV cleaning technology is also being trialled on escalators in order to keep handrails as clean as possible.
